Dinesh Kumar Sharma retired as Assistant Professor from Department of ENT, Government Medical College Amritsar (GMCA) in India in November 2014.

He obtained his MBBS degree from GMCA in the year 1979 and Master of Surgery (MS) in the specialty of ENT from the same institution in the year 1989. He also obtained Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) Diploma from Conestoga College located in Kitchener (Canada) in the year 2016. He passed the International Licensing Examination (ILE) in January 2020.

He has more than thirteen years of teaching experience from GMCA where he taught undergraduate (UG) medical (MBBS) students and postgraduate (PG) students pursuing MS (ENT) program. He has supervised more than a dozen PG thesis projects both as principal and co-supervisor. He has contributed a chapter entitled ‘Audiological assessment in Meniere’s Disease’ in the book ‘Up to Date on Meniere's Disease’ published by InTechOpen. The chapter has recorded more than 2900 downloads since October 2017.   He also contributed fifteen plus scientific research papers in international and Indian medical journals. His primary research interests are in the subject of otology. His research topics include Meniere’s Disease, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus, and chronic suppurative otitis media.

to Neealm Sharma

Dinesh is happily married and is leading a retired life in Kitchener city of Canada. His wife Neelam was also a teacher in India. He has two daughters Devika and Malvika and a son Tushar. He is blessed with two adorable grandsons Reyaan Gill and Shubh Gill.
